02 — What Our Backup & DR Service Covers

What Our Backup & DR Service Covers

Backups, recovery, and the infrastructure underneath them, managed by one team.

Server & Data Backup

Backups of servers, virtual machines, and business data with Veeam, Datto, or Acronis, kept on-site for fast restores and off-site in the cloud for protection.

Immutable Backups

Backup copies that cannot be changed or deleted during their retention period, on Wasabi, Backblaze B2, and AWS storage, so a clean copy stays protected from ransomware.

Cloud Disaster Recovery (DRaaS)

If a server or site fails, critical systems can run in AWS or Microsoft Azure, using AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery or Azure Site Recovery, until the primary environment is restored.

Scheduled Restore Testing

Restores are tested on a schedule against documented recovery time objectives. A failed test becomes a corrective action with an owner and a date.

Ransomware Recovery Planning

A written recovery plan sets the order in which systems come back, so recovery starts from a known procedure instead of guesswork.

Server & Storage Replacement

New Lenovo and Dell servers and Synology NAS storage, sized to your workload and budget, with high availability where downtime is costly.

Database & Server Migration

Moving databases, including SQL Server, and servers to new hardware or to the cloud, with a tested rollback plan before cutover.

Platforms we work with: Veeam, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, Datto, Acronis, AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, Azure Site Recovery, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Synology, Lenovo, and Dell.

03 — Backup Is Not the Same as Recovery

Backup Is Not the Same as Recovery

Many businesses find out their backups do not work only when they need them. A backup job can report success while the data inside cannot be restored, or the application that depends on it cannot start. We test restores of servers, applications, and data in the right order, and report the results to your leadership every quarter. Where recovery has never been tested, that is the first finding we document.

05 — Backup & Disaster Recovery FAQ

Backup & Disaster Recovery FAQ

How often are backups taken?

It depends on how much data your business can afford to lose. We set the backup schedule and retention based on your recovery point objective and document both.

How do we know our backups will actually work?

We test restores on a schedule and share the results with you, so recovery is proven rather than assumed.

Can ransomware delete our backups?

Immutable backup copies cannot be changed or deleted during their retention period, which protects your last good copy even if your network is compromised.

Does Microsoft 365 already back up our data?

Microsoft 365 includes limited recovery options, such as recycle bins and retention settings, but these are not a full backup. A separate Microsoft 365 backup gives you independent restore points that you control.

What if our server fails completely?

With cloud disaster recovery, critical systems can be brought up in AWS or Microsoft Azure while the server is repaired or replaced.

Can you replace our old server?

Yes. We size new Lenovo or Dell servers to your workload and budget, migrate your data and applications, and test before cutover.

How much does backup and disaster recovery cost?

It depends on how much data you have, how quickly you need to recover, and whether you need cloud failover. We review your systems and give you a written quote.

Who do we call during an outage?

Call us. Calls are answered 24/7, and response times are set in your service agreement.
